The STL Trenches

Compatible with Trench Crusade.* These miniatures can be played as a New Antioch Warband in Trench Crusade, where we recommend use as proxies for a Combat Medic, Lieutenant, and Engineer respectively.

For more than 800 years, the Cruciform Order of St George has defended Christendom. Even as the Choirs of Heaven fell silent, the Cruciform Order has remained resolute, grimly holding back the tide of the damned from one scarred battlefield to the next.

This pack represents command figures within the Cruciform Order, consisting of the below (from left to right):

An Order Field-Nurse – The Order’s Field-Nurses provide invaluable care to the wounded at the front, often at great risk to their own safety. When necessary, they are also prepared to grant mercy to the suffering—an important tenet of their calling.
An Order Castellan – Second sons and scoundrels with easy smiles, the Castellans of the Cruciform Order carve out their own fiefdoms in No Man’s Land. Each Castellan is responsible for a section of trench and the soldiery within it.
An Order Sapper – Masters of trench warfare, Sappers are responsible for the placement of Order defences and finding weaknesses in those of the enemy. They may lack the grandeur of the Order’s Field-Knights, but their work can mean the difference between life and death, even before the bullets start flying.

The Bellwarden is a sentinel whose duty transcends communication, a beacon of never-ending prayer and letanies on the battlefield. In combat, their position is one of calculated exposure; when a brother’s mask cracks or tears, they initiate the Fifth Rite and provide the wounded with Mask, Oil, and Prayer.

SISTER OF MERCY (MEDIC)

The Sisters of Mercy walk the trenches where most fear to tread, moving through smoke and shrapnel with the calm certainty of those who believe their lives are no longer their own. Clad in black-and-white monastic robes and a gas mask that hides every trace of humanity, she carries a censer filled with sanctified incense, its glow cutting through the haze like a guiding flame. In her other hand rests a holy surgeon’s knife, a tool meant for healing but often forced into grim necessity.

Upon her shoulder hangs a motanka bound in chains, a solemn relic or perhaps something more. Some soldiers swear they have seen the doll stir, pointing silently toward wounded men lost in the mud. Others claim a faint halo shimmered above the Sister’s hood as she worked. Most dismiss such tales as battlefield fever — yet none dare question her presence when death draws near.
